WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 5-2 win over Colonial Athletic Association foe James Madison on Sunday afternoon at the
Millie West Tennis Facility. W&M (14-8, 1-1 CAA) honored its lone senior
Scott Huang between doubles and singles for his contributions to the Green and Gold program over the last four years. Huang won both his singles and doubles matches on the afternoon in leading the Tribe to its 52nd dual-match win over his career.
The Green and Gold started the match by sweeping doubles to take a 1-0 lead over the visiting Dukes (9-11, 1-4 CAA). Junior
Damon Niquet and sophomore
Lars de Boer rolled to a 6-1 triumph over Alex Berdnikoff and Brett Moorhead at the No. 3 spot to get W&M off to a quick start. The duo improved to 6-3 on the year. Huang and sophomore
Christian Cargill clinched the doubles point with their second win at the top doubles position in as many days. The Tribe tandem downed Maxi Branth and Tristan Stitt, 6-3, extending its record to 10-4. Freshman

Ryan Newman rounded out the sweep with a 6-3 triumph over Miljan Ruzic and Sebastian Salinas at No. 2. The Tribe pair ran its record to 3-2.
Junior
Aidan Talcott made quick work of Ruzic at No. 5 to extend the Tribe advantage to 2-0. He dropped just one game in each set, dispatching of his Duke counterpart, 6-1, 6-1. Talcott won his second straight to push his record to 18-10 overall and 14-4 in dual-match play.
Huang claimed his fourth-straight dual-match victory at the No. 6 spot on Senior Day. The Tribe senior bounced Berdnikoff, 6-1, 6-4, to improve to 8-6 on the year. Huang has won six of his last seven matches and collected his 46th career singles win on Sunday.
Sophomore
Alec Miller and junior
Addison Appleby finished at nearly the same time to finalize the Tribe's CAA win. Miller clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-3 over Branth at No. 3. He jumped to 18-14 on the year, 12-7 in dual-match play and 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. Appleby won his second straight upending Moorhead, 6-3, 6-2, at the second post. The Tribe junior evened his season ledger at 11-11 with his fifth victory at No. 2.
The Tribe heads to Elon to defend its CAA Championship from a season ago, April 22-24. The seeding for the 2016 CAA Championship will be released on Monday. The event kicks off with quarterfinals at 9 a.m., and 1 p.m., on Friday, April 22, at the Burlington Tennis Center in Burlington, N.C. The semifinals and championship are set for Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, respectively. Both rounds will be played at 10 a.m., at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on the campus of Elon University.
