RICHMOND, Va. – Former William & Mary men's soccer standout
Jackson Eskay inked a contract with the Richmond Kickers of the United Soccer League earlier this week.
"We are really excited for Jackson," William & Mary men's soccer coach
Chris Norris said. "He has worked very hard and is deserving of this opportunity. He is fortunate to be joining an outstanding organization and I think he can thrive under head coach Leigh Cowlishaw."
Eskay, who was named Second-Team All-Colonial Athletic Association after the 2015 season, played in all 17 matches with 16 starts, and led the Tribe with six goals, eight assists, and 20 points during his final year with the Green and Gold.
"It's a cool opportunity," said Eskay. "I think my experience at William & Mary has prepared me well for the transition, and I am excited to begin training more regularly as school starts to finish up. The game is a little quicker and there's a lot of talent on the team, so I have some adjusting to do, but I am ready to put in the work in and hopefully make an impression."
Originally from Urbana, Maryland, Eskay appeared in 72 matches with 59 starts. He finished his career with 17 goals, 16 assists, and 50 points. His best collegiate season came in 2013 when he helped the Tribe to the NCAA Tournament starting all 19 games, scoring eight goals, five assists, and 21 points.
The Kickers open USL action this Saturday, March 26 against the Harrisburg City Islanders at 5 p.m. All Kickers home games are played at City Stadium in Richmond.
