Scouting No. 70 William & Mary For the third-straight week, the Tribe garnered a national ranking coming in at No. 70 in the Oracle/ITA Rankings released on Tuesday. Last time out, the Tribe won for the eighth time in nine matches, taking out Horizon League favorite Valparaiso, 6-1, on March 5. W&M is a perfect 8-0 at home this season, including wins in each of its first two matches of the current four-match homestand. Senior

Ryan Newman led the Tribe to the doubles point against Valparaiso knocking off a nationally duo and in the process earned CAA Team of the Week honors. Juniors

Lars de Boer (No. 4) posted singles wins in the victory over the Crusaders. Talcott continues to lead W&M with a 15-6 singles record, including a perfect 11-0 mark in dual-match play, while Niquet is riding a nine-match win streak. Combined the Tribe is 31-5 at the bottom three singles positions in dual-match play. Miller is second on the team with 14 singles wins, while de Boer is 12-7 after winning six of his last seven matches. Sophomore

Jeff Kader has W&M off to its best start since 2009 at 9-3. In fact, it is the sixth time since 1977 that W&M has started a season 9-3 or better. On Saturday, Kader, who spent the previous five seasons at UTSA, will face his old team, which won the C-USA Championship last season.
Scouting Norfolk StateNorfolk State enters the week at 1-10 after picking up its first win against South Dakota State, 5-2, during the team's spring break trip to Florida last week. The Spartans host a Thursday doubleheader against Fairmont State and MEAC foe Maryland-Eastern Shore, before taking on W&M on Friday morning. The Tribe and Spartans have one common opponent in Bucknell. The Tribe downed the Bison, 5-2, while NSU dropped a 5-2 decision to Bucknell. W&M will be the third CAA foe for Norfolk State as they already dropped matches to UNCW, 6-0, and James Madison, 5-2. The Spartans are coached by former W&M assistant
Worth Richardson, who spent the 2013-14 season in Williamsburg. Freshman Benedikt Henning holds down the No. 1 singles position for Norfolk State and owns a mark of 3-5. Sophomore Antonio Pejic sports the top dual-match record for the Spartans at 7-4, playing at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots. Henning and fellow rookie Flavian Fernandez combine to form NSU's top doubles team, which sits at 3-4 at No. 1.
Series History: W&M vs. Norfolk State The Tribe is 14-0 all-time against Norfolk State with all 14 wins coming in Williamsburg. It marks the fourth-straight season in which W&M and NSU have squared off. Last season, W&M defeated the Spartans, 7-0, at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
Scouting UTSAUTSA is 2-12 overall and 0-3 in Conference USA play entering its trip to Virginia. The Roadrunners travel to VCU on Sunday after playing the Tribe on Saturday. UTSA, which won the 2015 C-USA Championship, snapped an eight-match losing streak with a 4-3 win over DePaul in the final match of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions in Corpus Christi, Texas. Most recently, the Road Runners suffered a narrow 4-3 setback at Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday. In fact, four of their last six losses have been by close 4-2 or 4-3 scores. Of the Roadrunners' 12 losses, seven have come to nationally-ranked opponents, including four in the top 30. UTSA's other victory on the season came against UL-Lafayette, 4-2, at home in January. Diogo Casa holds down the No. 1 position for UTSA and is 5-5 on the year. He pairs with Fabian Brand to comprise the Roadrunners top doubles team, which sits at 6-3 at No. 1.
Series History: W&M vs. UTSAW&M and UTSA have split their only two meetings, both played in Williamsburg. The Tribe downed the Roadrunners, 6-1, in 2014, after UTSA posted a 4-3 win in 2013.
