News and Notes- UNCW leads the all-time series with W&M at 41-25 and snapped the Tribe's six-game win streak in the series with its 97-94 overtime win in Wilmington on Jan. 16. Of the last 10 meetings between the teams, seven contests have been decided by six or fewer points, and the last three games by 10 total points.

- Thursday's game pits two of the top scoring teams in the CAA. UNCW leads the league and ranks 19th nationally at 81.8 points per game, while the Tribe is third in the CAA at 77.7 points per game.

Omar Prewitt, who was named the CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 8, recorded his fourth-straight 20-point game at Towson. Over those four games, he is averaging 23.6 points per contest, shooting 58.9 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from 3-point range.

David Cohn leads the Tribe and ranks second in the CAA in assists at 4.8 per contest. His 119 assists on the year are the most for a Tribe player since 2008 and the eighth-best single-season total in program history. He is only four away from the top five on the Tribe's list.

Scouting UNCWUNCW enters Thursday's match-up riding an 11-game win streak, the fourth-longest active streak in the country. The Seahawks sit atop the CAA standings at 12-2 in league play and 20-5 overall. They are coming off wins last week over Elon (86-82) and James Madison (78-68), both at home.

Wilmington is the top scoring team in the CAA and among the top 20 in the country at nearly 82 points per game. UNCW is second in the league in field goal percentage (45.8) and has increased its 3-point percentage from 33.8 percent overall to 37.5 percent in CAA play. The Seahawks play an up-tempo pressing style, ranking among the top 50 in the country in possessions per game (72.5). UNCW is in the top 20 in the country forcing opponents into more than 15 turnovers per game. They rank eighth nationally in turnover margin (+4.4) and 65th in turnover percentage (20.2). The Seahawks lead the CAA at eight steals per game.

Transfer Chris Flemmings leads the way for UNCW at 16.6 points per game, which ranks sixth in the CAA. He is also second in the league at 52.6 percent shooting and 10th in rebounding (6.4). Flemmings has upped his scoring average to 18.4 per game in league action. Denzel Ingram, who scored 30 points in the first meeting with W&M, is second on the team at 12.7 points per game. He is the Seahawks top 3-point shooter at 38.3 percent from long range. Ingram has been even better in CAA play averaging 14.6 points per game, shooting 44.2 percent from 3-point range and hitting three 3-pointers per game. C.J. Bryce and Craig Ponder both average in double figures as well for UNCW at 11.3 and 11.2 points per game.

Prewitt's Three-Straight 20 SpotsIn each of the last four contests, junior
Omar Prewitt recorded 20-point games to lead the way for W&M. It marks the longest 20-point scoring streak of Prewitt's career. His 11 20-point games this season are tied for the CAA lead along with Northeastern's David Walker and Delaware's Kory Holden. W&M is 8-3 when Prewitt scores 20 points this season and 10-3 when he leads them in scoring. He is third in the CAA and 90th nationally at 17.8 points per game. Prewitt started the stretch with a season-high 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting in a win at Northeastern. He followed that up with 21 points against Delaware, 25 vs. Hofstra and 20 at Towson on Feb. 13. Over the last four games, Prewitt is averaging 23.6 points per game, shooting 58.9 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from 3-point range.

Welcome to the 80'sFor the first time in 40 years, the Tribe scored 80 or more points in four straight games. In fact, the Green and Gold tallied at least 80 points in seven of its last nine contests. The last time W&M scored 80 or more points in four straight games came in 1976. The Tribe tallied 105 vs. Christopher Newport, 92 vs. Hampden-Sydney, 94 vs. The Citadel and 84 against Wake Forest, all at home, to start the 1976-77 campaign. W&M will attempt to score 80 points in a fifth-straight game against UNCW on Thursday. The Tribe last posted five straight 80-point games during the 1969-70 season. During the first five games of December in 1969, W&M scored 84 vs. N.C. State, 80 at West Virginia, 84 at Virginia Tech, 82 at Georgetown and 81 vs. Richmond.

Moving on Up Sophomore guard
David Cohn moved into the Tribe's single-season top 10 for assists with his five helpers at Towson. He ranks eighth in program lore, tied with Randy Bracey, with 119 assists on the year. Cohn is only four assists away from moving into the top five in W&M history. His assist total is the best for a Tribe player since David Schneider had 124 in 2008. The Elmhurst, Ill., native ranks second in the CAA and 87th nationally at 4.8 assists per game, which is the third-best per game average in W&M annals. He has been even better at 5.6 per contest in league action, which also ranks second in the CAA. Along with his high number of assists, Cohn has not turned the ball over either, sporting the CAA's second-best assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.8, which also ranks 34th nationally. His assist-to-turnover ratio would establish a new program record.

Strong Free Throw ShootingThe Tribe has been heating up from the free throw line recently and pushed its averages to the top of the CAA rankings. W&M currently leads the CAA in both free throw shooting overall at 71.6 percent and in league play at 74.3 percent. Over the last six games, the Green and Gold is shooting 79.7 percent (102-of-128) from the charity stripe, including four games of better than 84 percent. W&M has been even better over the last three contests, connecting at an 85.9-percent clip (55-of-64). The Green and Gold connected on 11-of-13 (84.2 percent) in the win over Delaware, before knocking down 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) against Hofstra. The Tribe hit a season-high 28 free throws at Towson, shooting 84.8 percent (28-of-33) at the charity stripe.
