- Saturday's match-up pits the top shooting team in the CAA against one of the league's top defenses. W&M leads the CAA for the fourth straight season in 3-point percentage (37.9) and in field goal percentage (48.7) for the third time in the last four years. On the other side, Towson is second in the CAA in both scoring defense (65.5 points per game) and field goal percentage defense (40.5).

Scouting Towson
Towson enters the match-up with the Tribe at 17-9 overall and 8-5 in the CAA. The Tigers have dropped two of their last three contests, including a 47-44 setback to Northeastern at home on Thursday. TU is 9-3 at home this season.

The Tigers' calling card has been its defense and rebounding. Towson ranks second in the CAA in both scoring defense (65.5) and defensive field goal percentage (40.5). They also lead the league in blocked shots at nearly five per game. The Tigers are one of the top rebounding teams in the country. Towson leads the CAA and ranks among the top 25 nationally in rebounding margin, pulling down 7.6 per game more than its opposition. TU also tops the league on the offensive glass in rebounds per game (14.3) and offensive rebounding percentage (38.4). The Tigers are 13th nationally in both categories as well. Offensively, TU averages 70.8 points per game. They score 26.9 percent of their points from the free throw line, which ranks second nationally. Towson gets to the charity stripe at the third-best rate in the country.

Junior William Adala Moto leads the Tigers and ranks 10th in the CAA at 14.2 points per game, while coming in third in the league at 8.1 rebounds per contest. Three other TU players average in double figures with Bryon Hawkins at 13.4, Mike Morsell at 12.4 and John Davis at 10.3 points per game. Adala Motto and Morsell led the Tigers with 18 points each in the victory over W&M earlier this season. Along with Adala Moto, two other Tigers rank among the top 20 in the CAA in rebounding with Timajh Parker-Rivera coming in at 6.1 per game and Davis averaging 5.5 per contest.  Walter Davis leads the CAA in blocked shots at 1.6 per game.

W&M leads the all-time series with Towson at 17-14, including an 85-72 victory last season in Maryland. The Tribe had won three straight in the series prior to the Tigers 76-69 win in Williamsburg on New Year's Eve.

Prewitt's Three-Straight 20 Spots
For the third-straight game on Thursday night, junior Omar Prewitt scored 20-plus points to lead the way for W&M. It marks the longest 20-point scoring streak of Prewitt's career. His 10 20-point games this season are tied for the CAA lead along with Northeastern's David Walker and Delaware's Kory Holden. W&M is 8-2 when Prewitt scores 20 points and 10-2 when he leads them in scoring. He is third in the CAA and 93rd nationally at 17.7 points per game. Prewitt started the stretch with a season-high 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting in a win at Northeastern. He followed that up with 21 points against Delaware and 25 vs. Hofstra on Thursday. Over the last three games, Prewitt is averaging 24.7 points per game and shooting 63.6 percent from the field.

Helping Hand
An important characteristic of the Tribe's offense under head coach Tony Shaver has been its ability to share the basketball. For the fourth straight season and eighth time in the last nine years, W&M eclipsed the 400-assist mark on Feb. 11 against Hofstra. In 2015-16, W&M is averaging 16.9 assists per game, which leads the CAA and ranks 19th nationally. In fact, it is the second-best single-season assist average in school history behind only the 17.0 mark in 1977. The Green and Gold has been even better in CAA play, dishing out a league-best 18.2 per contest. It marks third time in the last four years that W&M leads the CAA in assists. Each of the last three seasons, the Tribe has ranked among the top 100 nationally in assists per game, including 39th in 2014-15 at 14.8. In 10 of Shaver's 12 seasons, W&M has ranked among the top 100 in the country in assist percentage, according to KenPom.com. In fact, the Tribe has been among the top 50 in five of the last eight seasons. Assist percentage measures the percentage of made field goals assisted on by a team. This season, the Tribe is 34th in assist percentage at 60.5. Seven of the top eight assist totals in W&M history have come from Shaver-coached teams, including 487 last season which ranked second in program annals.
