WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – For the first time this season, the William & Mary women's basketball team will look to rebound from back-to-back losses as they travel to Hofstra for a Colonial Athletic Association game on Sunday, Jan. 17. Tip time from Long Island is set for 1 p.m. W&M enters tonight's contest looking to get back into the win column following a heartbreaking 68-69 overtime loss at Northeastern on Friday night. The Tribe and Hofstra meet for 35th time in program history on Sunday afternoon. It is the first of two regular season meetings with the return trip in Williamsburg being set for Feb. 12. Hofstra holds a 27-9-1 record in the series that dates back to the 1939 season. Last season, the Pride won two of three meetings, including the CAA Quarterfinal match up.

Abby Rendle led the Tribe with her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Rendle added two assists and one block in a career-high 39 minutes of action. Junior

Marlena Tremba was the final Tribe player in double-figures with 11 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals. W&M used a 9-3 run in the final minute and change of regulation to force overtime, but the Huskies used a late overtime free throw to down the Tribe, 69-68.
SCOUTING THE PRIDEHofstra enters Sunday's contest looking to move its winning streak to three consecutive games after picking up road wins at Charleston (62-58) and UNCW (68-64). The Pride sports the best overall record in the league at 12-3 and are in a three-way tie for first place at 3-1 in CAA play. Hofstra is averaging 66.0 points per game, which is good for second in the league. Kelly Loftus leads three players in double-figures with 13.7 points per game. Ashunae Durant and Krystal Luciano are both in double-digits averaging 12.1 ppg., and 10.6 ppg., respectively. On the glass, the Pride is brining home 40.2 rebounds per game. Durant is just shy of a double-double for the year with 9.7 rebounds per game, while Anjie White is grabbing 6.9 rebounds per night. Krista Kilburn-Steveskey is in her 10th season as the head coach of the Pride. She owns a 165-133 mark in her time on Long Island.

THE ROAD AHEADNext weekend, W&M returns home to face UNCW on Friday, Jan. 22. Tip time from Kaplan Arena is set for 7 p.m. The Tribe will then hit the road for a game at Delaware on Sunday, Jan. 24. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
BREAKING BIANCAFreshman
Bianca Boggs has made her presence known and just 15 games of her rookie season. She has started 10 games this season for W&M, including the last nine. The rookie won the game at Loyola with a free throw, before hitting a clutch free throw to send the game to overtime at Northeastern. She was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of Dec. 21. For the season the Waldorf, Md. native is averaging 7.1 points per game, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
SCORING IN THE SEVENTIESSo far this season getting over the 70-point clip has been a great sign for the Green and Gold. The five times the Tribe has reached that plateau they have one. Before Friday night, W&M was also 5-0 when scoring more than 59 points. This season, W&M is 10-1 when scoring over 59.
O CANADASophomore
Jeanne Gaumont has provided a nice spark off of the bench for the Green and Gold over the last three games, for the Tribe. She has registered career-highs in two of the last three games in points with nine and 10 respectively. She has added nine rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. In the last three games she is averaging 8.3 points in 17 minutes of game play. For the season, the Saint-Lambert, Quebec native is averaging 3.6 points per game, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game in 12.8 minutes.
SHARING IS CARINGA key to success this season for W&M has been they have shared the rock. W&M ranks 16th (as of Jan. 14) in the country in assists per game with 17.5. Furthermore, the Tribe has averaged 18.5 assists per game in its 11 wins this season. In its four losses, the Green and Gold has averaged just 14.5 assists.
ABBY ROADSophomore
Abby Rendle is starting to come into her own as the Tribe's center. She has had a strong season averaging 12.3 points per game, with 6.8 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks.
In her last four home games, Rendle is averaging 17.3 points per game, added her first double-double of the season against JMU, and has 15 blocks. The Reston, Va. native has scored in double-figures in five consecutive contests, which is the longest such streak of her career. Furthermore, she has scored in double digits in eight of the last nine ball games.
FORCING TURNOVERS For the season, W&M is averaging 19.1 turnovers per game, which ranks 53rd (as of Jan. 14) in the country and first in the CAA. W&M has forced five opponents into 20, or more turnovers this season.
DOUBLE DIGIT DEFICITSW&M has only trailed by double-figures on five separate occasions this season. However, the Green and Gold has rallied to win three of those five games. W&M overcame double-digit deficits against Clemson, Old Dominion, and James Madison.
MAKES YOU WANNA STAYThe Green and Gold played its second overtime on Friday night in Boston, falling to Northeastern 69-68. The Tribe is now 1-1 in overtime games this season. W&M played four overtime games a season ago, going 2-2. The loss against Northeastern in overtime also snapped a three-game winning streak in games that go to overtime.
TAKING CARE OF THE ROCKOne of the Tribe's greatest strengths this season has been taking care of the basketball. Through 15 games, W&M has only turned the ball over 197 times (14.5 tpg.), which ranks them 19th in the country as of Jan. 14. The Green and Gold has had just one game this season where they have committed 20, or more turnovers. In terms of assist to turnover ratio, the Tribe is first in the CAA with a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio, which is 27th-best in the NCAA (as of Jan. 14).
WEEKLY AWARDSJunior
Marlena Tremba became the Tribe's first player to earn a weekly award when she was tabbed the CAA's first player of the week on the week of Nov. 16. The junior poured in a career-high 26 points in the season opener against Mount St. Mary's on her way to the award. Freshman
Bianca Boggs was the second Tribe player to earn a weekly award when she was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the week of Dec. 21. She scored nine points, adding a rebound, two assists, two blocks, and two steals in a win against Norfolk State. Junior
Alexandra Masaquel won her first CAA weekly award with the player of the week nod for the week of Jan. 4. She averaged a double-double in two victories over ODU and JMU.
GRAND COUNTDOWNWith her first quarter 3-pointer against Norfolk State, junior
Marlena Tremba entered the 900-point plateau for her career. Entering today's game against Hofstra she is just 26 points, which is her career-high, from her 1,000 career point. She would become the 17th player in school history to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau, and in 76 games would be the fifth fastest player to reach the mark.
RENDLE'S REJECTIONSSophomore
Abby Rendle picked up where she left off her freshman year in terms of controlling the paint. The sophomore is averaging 2.7 blocks a night, to open the season, which ranks first in the CAA and 16th in the country. Her 41 total blocks this season rank her 24th in the NCAA (as of Jan. 14).The 41 blocks are tied for eighth-most in single-season school history. She needs two more to move into sixth place all by herself. Rendle is already third place on the all-time blocks list in W&M history with 109. She is the fifth player to record 100 career blocks, and she needs 47 blocks to move into second place all-time. Tiffany Benson '10 is the school record holder for blocked shots with 255.
STEALING THE SHOWAfter struggling to force steals in its first three games this season, W&M has recorded 143 steals in its last 12 contests, which is 11.9 steals per game. For the season, the Tribe is averaging 10.7 steals a game, which ranks first in the CAA. Freshman
