WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 14, 2015)—The William and Mary women's gymnastics team posted the fourth-best score in school history en route to earning an exciting 195.000 – 194.675 victory against Bridgeport on Senior Night at Kaplan Arena.

In addition to the outstanding team total, W&M posted a school record on vault (49.125) and registered the second-best scores in school history on both beam (48.900) and floor (49.225).

Junior Brittany Stover highlighted a number of impressive efforts by Tribe gymnasts as she broke her own school record in all-around (39.500) and on vault (49.125). In addition to winning those two events, the New Albany, Ind., native also claimed the bars title by tying the third-best mark in school history (9.875).

Graduate student Larson Lasek also posted a memorable all-around performance with a 39.175, an impressive total that ranks tied for third in school history.

W&M opened the dual meet in an impressive fashion with its record-setting performance on vault. While Stover won the title with a school-record 9.950, Lasek and sophomore Olivia O'Connor both tallied career highs with a pair of 9.850s to contribute to the team score.

The College then moved to bars where it earned a 47.750, as Stover placed first with the third-best mark in school history (9.875). O'Connor and freshman Monica Ouellet also came up big, as both recorded career highs with a pair of 9.725s.

In the third rotation of the evening, the Tribe tallied the second-best score in school history on beam with a 48.900. Senior Brandy Stover and sophomore Briana Gironda tied for second with a 9.825. The impressive score established a career high for Gironda, while it was a season best for Stover.

W&M closed out the meet by making more history on floor with a 49.225 – the second-best mark in school history. A trio of standouts – senior Maggie Lundeen, Brittany Stover and Lasek – tied for third with a 9.875, which represented a career high for both Lasek and Stover.

The Tribe will look to earn its second-consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference title when it returns to action at the league championship hosted by Yale next Saturday.
