The William and Mary volleyball team was edged on the road by the College of Charleston Sunday, falling by a score of 3-1. The Tribe is now 2-8 in the CAA, 6-19 overall, while the Cougars improved to 16-9 on the year and 8-2 in league action.

Paige Humphrey (Oak Hill, Va.). Koleva also had 10 digs on the afternoon, while Humphrey hit .353 from her middle position and threw down three blocks on defense.

Carolyn Albright (Raleigh, N.C.) with a match-high four blocks. Redshirt-sophomore
Michelle Heath (Rustburg, Va.) paired six kills with five digs, and had a hand in another block. Also of note, freshman
Austyn Ames (Wichita, Kan.) had 20 assists and three digs, and sophomore
Stephanie Paul (North Bethesda, Md.) celebrated her birthday with 10 assists, six digs, and a kill. Freshman
Sara Zumbach (Franklin, Tenn.) rounded out the notables with a team-best 15 digs.
After Charleston took the first set 25-14, the Tribe came right back in the second with a 25-23 win. Humphrey and Biniak combined for seven kills and no errors in the frame, which saw W&M leading or tied for all but a single point. Humphrey checked in for the last time with the Tribe leading 18-17, and produced two kills and a solo block over a 5-3 run that put W&M up 23-20.
The Cougars responded by taking the third set, 25-18, and also won the fourth set 25-22. That final stanza saw some great things from the Tribe, however, laying the groundwork for continued improvement over the rest fo the season. Trailing by four late, 17-13, a kill from Brickerd ignited a 7-1 Tribe rally that gae them the biggest lead of the match at 20-18. The run also include an ace by the junior, as well as a pair of blocks by Humphrey, paired with Heath on one and Biniak on the other.
William and Mary's four-match road-trip continues on Halloween weekend with a pair of games. On Halloween night, the Tribe will be in Elon, N.C., to take on CAA newcomer Elon at 7 p.m., before traveling across the state to Wilmington, N.C., for a 1 p.m. tilt with UNCW on Sunday, Nov. 2.
