HARRISONBURG, Va. - The William and Mary women's basketball team fell at James Madison, 82-52, on Thursday night from the Convocation Center.  The College weathered an early JMU attack as it zapped multiple first-half deficits to single-digits before the Purple and Gold pulled away in the second-half.  For the year, the Green and Gold falls to 2-13 overall and 0-4 in Colonial Athletic Association action, while JMU improves to 9-7 on the season and 3-1 in league play.

Senior Emily Correal led the Tribe with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while classmate Taylor Hilton netted nine points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor.  Senior Janine Aldridge finished the evening with eight points, while sophomore Kyla Kerstetter chipped in with four.  The College finished the night shooting 21-of-61 (35 percent) from the field and 7-of-9 (77.8 percent) from the foul line.

In opening half action, JMU started strong, connecting on six of its first seven attempts, as it built an early 17-8 advantage with 16:24 remaining.  Precious Hall led the Duke attack in the early spurt with nine points.

Trailing 25-12 at the 10:40 mark, the Tribe responded with a run of its own, 8-2, as it got to within 27-20 at the 8:07 juncture.  Hilton's lay up ignited the burst, while Correal's conventional 3-point play capped the six-point advantage.

The two squads traded buckets for the next three minutes as the College stayed within striking distance.  However, JMU increased its lead to 34-24 after Hall connected on a 3-pointer at the 4:43 mark.  Answering back, the Tribe trimmed the deficit back to single-digits, 34-25, when sophomore Jazmen Boone netted a free-throw with 4:21 remaining.  With 41 seconds left on the clock, Hilton's lay up proved to be the final bucket of the half, but it was JMU who owned the 41-31 lead at intermission.

W&M stormed out of the gates in the final 20 minutes of action as sophomore Anna Kestler's fast-break lay in got the Tribe to within 43-35 at the 18:55 juncture.  Despite cutting the deficit back down to single-digits, the Dukes answered with a 10-0 run as it seized control of the contest.   For the remainder of the evening, JMU kept its distance between itself and any Tribe comeback.

Senior Tarik Hislop paced the Dukes with 21 points, while Hall added 14 points and five assists.  James Madison shot 31-of-73 (42.5 percent) from the field and 13-of-19 (68.4 percent) from the charity stripe.
