Williamsburg, Va. - The William and Mary women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a Senior Day victory over Boston University, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Millie West Tennis Facility. The Green and Gold claimed the doubles point before winning at four of the six singles slots in route to the team triumph. Prior to singles competition, W&M honored its pair of seniors Tori Ford and Katie Kargl for their contributions to the Tribe program. With the victory, W&M upped its mark to 6-15, while the 22-time America East Champion Terriers fell to 6-12.

The Tribe took the doubles point with victories at the top two positions. The Green and Gold's top pair of sophomores Jeltje Loomans and Hope Johnson breezed to an 8-0 victory over Jessi Linero and Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis for its third victory of the season. Junior Anik Cepeda and sophomore Maria Belaya clinched the point winning the final four games on the way to an 8-3 triumph at the No. 2 slot as they downed Monika Mical and Sami Lieb. Cepeda and Belaya improved to 4-1 as a team this season.

Cepeda and Kargl extended the Green and Gold lead to 3-1 with victories at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions. At the No. 5 slot, Cepeda made quick work of Sami Lieb, 6-2, 6-3, for her ninth singles win of the season. Kargl won for the third time in her last four matches, rolling Amelia Martinez, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 6 for her team-leading 14th singles win of the season. Playing in the final home match of her collegiate career, Kargl picked up her 53rd career singles victory.

Loomans clinched the Tribe win with a triumph at the No. 2 singles post. The Tribe sophomore toughed out a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7), win in the first set, before jumping out to a 5-0 lead on the way to a 6-1 victory in the second. It marked Loomans' fourth win in her last five matches and her ninth overall on the year.

Junior Nina Vulovich rounded out the Tribe victory with a come-from-behind three-set win at the No. 3 spot. After dropping the opening set 6-4 to Jessi Linero, Vulovich jumped out to a commanding 4-1 lead in the second on the way to a 6-4 victory. She carried the momentum over to the third set, claiming the final two games to register a 6-3 victory. It marked her fourth singles win of the season.

W&M will next compete in the CAA Championships, which are slated for April 19-22 at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center in Norfolk, Va. The seeding and schedule for the tournament will be released on Tuesday, April 17.
