RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 6, 2012) - William
and Mary standout cornerback/punt returner B.W. Webb was honored as the Touchdown Club of
Richmond Division I Special Teams Player of the Year at the organization's
annual awards banquet yesterday in Richmond, Va.
One of the
nation's top cornerbacks throughout his career, Webb was recently selected to
play in the 2013 Senior Bowl, which will be held on Jan. 26 at Ladd-Peebles
Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
The Newport
News, Va., native recently wrapped up his illustrious career as one of the
most-decorated players in Colonial Athletic Association history as he totaled
nine all-conference honors during the past four seasons. A first-team
all-league selection during each of the past three seasons, Webb was chosen as
the 2012 CAA Special Teams Player of the Year.
Selected to
the 2012 Buchanan Award Watch List, Webb earned a school-record 48 starts and
finished his career ranked among W&M's all-time top 10 in interceptions
(11) and punt return yards (603).
As a senior,
Webb totaled 46 tackles, eight PBU's, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble
and a tackle for a loss. Additionally, he averaged 11.2 yards per punt return
while ranking third in the conference with 123 punt return yards.

of Richmond awards. The banquet is organized by The Touchdown Club of Richmond,
and the awards are sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
