The William and Mary men's cross country team kept its record perfect in 2011 with a win at the W&M Invitational Saturday morning, beating Richmond 25-31 and the Old Dominion club team 25-85. The race was held in the midst of the 53rd Annual W&M High School Invitational, and on the grounds of Eastern State Hospital.

Tyler Jones (Chalfont, Pa.) took the individual title in the eight-kilometer race was a time of 24:52, 16 seconds ahead of the field. It was Jones' first in-uniform appearance for the Tribe cross country team, and the second individual win in as many races for the team this fall. Next across for the College was
Zach Tennant (Fairview, W.Va.) in 25:35 and fourth place, with
Joshua Mercado (Citrus Heights, Calif.) and
Andrew Ryan (Gloucester, Mass.) in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Jack Anderson (Pfafftown, N.C.) rounded out the scoring in 26:27 and 11th place, while
David Gunnerson (Yorktown, Va.) and
Jack Jasper (Herndon, Va.) also ran for the Green and Gold, finishing 13th and 18th overall.
William and Mary returns to action in two weeks, racing at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
