WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 5, 2011) - William and Mary lacrosse head coach Christine
Halfpenny has announced that seven student-athletes will join the program for
the 2011-12 academic year.
The talented
incoming class includes three midfielders, two attackers, a defender and a
goalkeeper.
"I am very excited
to welcome this strong class of student-athletes to William & Mary,"
Halfpenny said. "Top to bottom this class brings experience to each position on
the field. These players are outstanding students and strong athletes who are
hungry to compete and win at the highest level. We are looking forward to
seeing their personalities and styles mesh well with the returning squad but
also continue to raise the level of our team as we strive towards a CAA
Championship."
The Tribe has
experienced tremendous success in recent years, as it has consistently ranked
among the nation's top 20 and has earned four consecutive double-digit win
seasons.
