WIMBLEDON, England - Former William and Mary women's tennis standout Megan
Moulton-Levy '08 booked a ticket into the main Ladies' doubles draw at The 125th Championships Wimbledon on Saturday, marking the first Grand Slam appearance of
her career. Pairing with Lindsay Lee-Waters of Dunwoody, Ga.,
the tandem won a pair of qualifying matches on the grass courts at Bank
of England Sports Ground in Roehampton, England, to earn a berth in the 64-team
field at the third Grand Slam event of the year.
The Championships Wimbledon get underway on Monday, June 20,
and run through July 3 at The All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Moulton-Levy and Lee-Waters drew the doubles team of Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania
and Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia, who have advanced to the
third round of the last two Grand Slam tournaments, in the first round on
either Tuesday, June 21, or Wednesday, June 22. Check back with

After knocking off Arantxa Rus of the
Netherlands and Anna Tatishvili of Georgia in the opening round of qualifying,
6-3, 6-3, Moulton-Levy and Lee-Waters rallied for a three-set victory, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 8-6, over the Russian pair of Nina Bratchikova
and Valeria Savinykh in the final round of qualifying on Saturday. The final qualifying match was pushed
back twice due to rain. A six-time All-American at
W&M, Moulton-Levy owns eight ITF Women's Circuit doubles titles to go along
with one singles title during her pro career. She is currently ranked No. 111 in
the World Doubles Rankings and was ranked as high as No. 103 earlier this
season. Moulton-Levy owns a career-best World Singles Ranking of No. 237
in 2009, but has focused on doubles this year.
One of the most
decorated players in W&M and CAA history, Moulton-Levy was a two-time
winner of the ITA National Arthur Ashe Jr. Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. A four-time CAA Player of the Year, Moulton-Levy won the most
combined (singles and doubles) matches in school history at 249. She still
ranks second in program annals with 125 doubles wins, third in singles wins
(124) and singles winning percentage (.775) along with being fifth on the
doubles winning percentage list (.758). In 2007, Moulton-Levy teamed with 2009
graduate Katarina Zoricic to win the ITA National Indoor Doubles Championship
and advance to the finals of the NCAA Doubles Championship.
