- The William and Mary Tribe men's golf team sits in sixth place after two
rounds of play at the Rutherford Intercollegiate. The Tribe shot rounds of 301-307 to card a
36-hole team total of 608 (+40). The
host Penn State Nittany Lions lead the tournament with a score of 586 (+18).
Leading the Tribe on Saturday was sophomore Jeremy Wells
,
who carded rounds of 76-73 to end the day with a score of 149 (+7). After two rounds, Wells sits in a tie for 12th
,
six shots back of the leaders.
Senior Zach Glassman
had a solid first two rounds for the
Tribe, shooting a 36-hole total 150 (+8) to tie for 16th
place. Glassman shot a first round 73 (+2) before
shooting a second round 77 (+6).
Classmate Brandon Parker
s sits just four shots shy of his teammate after
the first two rounds, tying for 32nd
with a total of 154 (+12).
Rounding out the College's effort on the day were freshmen
Nick Schafer
and Tanner Taddeo
. Schafer
is tied for 39th
with a score of 155 (+13), while Taddeo is tied for
71st
with a total of 162 (+20).
The William and Mary Tribe men's golf team will look to make
a charge up the leaderboard on Sunday when teams will play the third and final
round of the Rutherford Intercollegiate.
