The William and Mary women's basketball team saw its season come to a close Thursday evening in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, as the Tribe fell to Hofstra 89-67.

(Venetia, Pa.)
posted her third double-double of the year with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead five Tribe players in double-figures on the afternoon. Junior
Taysha Pye
(Bronx, N.Y.)
matched Correal with 15 points, while adding four steals.
Taylor Hilton
(Washington, D.C.)
and
Jaclyn McKenna
(Huntington, N.Y.)
each had 10 points and six rebounds, and senior
Katy Oblinger
(Altoona, Pa.)
scored 10 with three assists and three steals. Also of note was the play of junior captain
Katherine DeHenzel
(Bowie, Md.)
, who had four assists and four steals against just one turnover.
The Tribe started the game strong, outscoring Hofstra 14-4 over a five-minute stretch to go ahead 16-9 with 13:53 remaining. Hofstra would respond and eventually retook the lead, but another 12-4 run for W&M was capped by a three from Hilton with 1:39 remaining that made the score 34-33 in favor of the College. Hofstra would finish on a small run of their own, holding the ball for a three at the buzzer that made the half-time score 40-35.
The opponents continued to hit their shots as the second half opened, but W&M hung right with them and closed the lead down to a single point, 51-50 with 15 minutes remaining, after a three by Oblinger put the finish on an 8-2 run. Unfortunately, the Green and Gold went cold just as the Pride were heating up at that point, and Hofstra was able to pull back out to a significant margin over the next few minutes. W&M still had fight left in it, building off of four-straight free throws by McKenna to create a 15-8 run late, but the gap was too much to be fully closed and Hofstra held on for the win.
