Jenkins Overtime Heave Hands Tribe Heartbreaking Loss

Hempstead, N.Y. - A Charles Jenkins 35-foot heave at the buzzer sent the William and Mary men's basketball to another heartbreaking defeat, this time in overtime, as Hofstra downed the Green and Gold, 81-78, on Tuesday night at the Mack Sports Complex. The Tribe led by three, 69-66, with 9.4 seconds remaining in the contest, before Jenkins hit a 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds remaining to send the game to OT. The Tribe fell to 7-20 overall and 3-13 in CAA action while Hofstra clinched a first round bye in the CAA Tournament in improving to 18-9 on the year and 12-4 in league play.

It marked his third career double-double, and he finished 8-of-16 from the floor, 6-of-10 from 3-point range and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Freshman Julian Boatner finished with 16 points on four 3-pointers and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. His four 3-pointers moved him into third on the W&M freshman 3-pointers made list with 43 on the year.
