Lynchburg, Va. - The William and Mary men's basketball team fell in the first game of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer Subregional to Lehigh, 82-57, on Friday night at the Vines Center. The Tribe dropped to 0-4 on the season, while the Mountain Hawks evened their mark at 2-2.

Sophomore guard Brandon Britt led the Tribe with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor, while freshman Marcus Thornton added 11 points. Senior Quinn McDowell finished with eight points and five rebounds in 23 minutes of action, while junior guard Matt Rum chipped in eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

Lehigh led 48-14 at the half on the strength of 56.3 percent (18-of-32) shooting from the floor. For the game, W&M shot 36.7 percent (18-of-49) from the field, including 46.9 percent (15-of-32) in the second half. The College owned a 36-35 advantage on the glass led by freshman Tom Schalk, who pulled down a team-high six rebounds. It marked the second straight game in which Schalk topped W&M in rebounding off the bench.

The Mountain Hawks finished the contest connecting on 49.2 percent (30-of-61) from the field, including eight 3-pointers. Junior forward Gabe Knutson led Lehigh with 16 points and five rebounds, while C.J. McCollum added 15 and Holden Greiner chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds.

Junior forward Andrew Pavloff tallied seven points and four rebounds off the bench for the Tribe, while fellow classmate Doug Howard saw his first action of the season. In 11 minutes, Howard enjoyed a nice floor game for the Green and Gold with four points, one assist and one steal compared to zero turnovers. Sophomore guard Julian Boatner led the College with three assists on the night.
