Newark, Del. - The William and Mary men's
swimming and diving team completed its 2011 road schedule Saturday,
traveling to Delaware to take on the Blue Hens and the UMBC Retrievers.
The Tribe had several strong finishes but fell to both teams, 236-62 to
Delaware and 225-73 to UMBC.
The day started off with the 200 medley relay team of
Sidney Glass,
Ben Ward,
Geoff Ramsdell, and
Michael Naccarelli finishing second in
both races with a time of 1:34.90. Junior
Stephen Fay was next up,
finishing second to both teams in the 200 freestyle after touching the
wall in 1:42.76. Ward came back in the 100 breaststroke with a time of
59.88, finishing second against the Retrievers.
Naccarelli had a pair of individual seconds against UMBC, touching
in 21.70 in the 50 freestyle and coming back after the first
intermission to time 47.85 seconds in the 100 freestyle. The senior
from Wallingford, Pa., also led off the Tribe's 400 free relay that
finished second in both races. He was joined on the relay by Ward,
sophomore
Hunter Perrot, and Fay.
William and Mary brings the regular season to a close next weekend, hosting East Carolina on Saturday for Senior Day.
