Williamsburg, Va. - The William and Mary Tribe baseball team completed its sweep of the Northeastern Huskies on a hot Sunday afternoon, beating NU, 6-4, at Plumeri Park. With the victory, the Tribe improves to 25-18 on the season and to 9-9 in the CAA, while Northeastern falls to 9-22 on the year and to 2-13 in conference play.

Frank Leoni said after the game. "We are back at square one, which is where we want to be in conference."
On the mound, freshman
Brett Koehler came out of the bullpen to earn his second win of the season. Koehler pitched 3.1 shutout innings, allowing only two hits and striking out a pair. Sophomore
Jay McCarthy pitched the final three innings for the College, earning his fourth save of the season, striking out five.
At the plate, junior
Derrick Osteen and freshman
Derek Lowe led the College with a pair of RBIs, while freshmen
Ryan Williams and
Ryan Brown each had a pair of hits, with Williams also driving in one. Sophomore
Tadd Bower also brought in one, hitting a solo home run in the fifth.
For the first time in the series, the Huskies were able to get on the board Sunday afternoon, striking for a pair of runs in the first inning to take an early lead. The Tribe responded in the bottom of the frame, taking advantage of a NU error.
After drawing a walk to start the game, freshman
Ryan Brown advanced all the way to third on a failed pickoff attempt. Osteen made the Huskies pay for the error, hitting a RBI groundout to second to cut the Northeastern advantage in half, 2-1, after the first.
After a scoreless second, the Tribe would tie the game in the bottom of the third. After two singles and a walk, the bases were loaded for Osteen, who again came through for the College, reaching on a fielder's choice, plating freshman
Ryan Williams with his second RBI of the day. After three frames, the game was tied, 2-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, W&M would take its first lead of the game thanks to a home run off the bat of Bower, a towering shot over the fence in right-center field. On Bower's eighth homer of the season, the Tribe took a 3-2 lead after five full.
After a walk and a Northeastern error to open up the bottom of the sixth, the Tribe extended its lead with a two-run single from Lowe, making it four RBIs in the series for the freshman outfielder. After six innings, the Tribe led the Huskies, 5-2.
The Green and Gold would add another run to its advantage in the seventh. After drawing a walk, Arcure found himself on third after a wild pitch and a groundout for Williams. Williams continued his strong day at the plate, driving Arcure in with a RBI single through the left side, pushing the College's lead to 6-2 heading into the eighth.
The Huskies threatened in the top of the ninth, scoring a pair of runs, but it wouldn't be enough, as the Tribe would win the game and the series, 6-4.
The William and Mary Tribe baseball team will have the next week off to take final exams. The College will next be in action on Thursday, May 13, when the Tribe opens ups a three-game series with CAA-rival UNC Wilmington at Plumeri Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
