Williamsburg, Va. - William and Mary Tribe baseball head coach
Frank Leoni earned career victory 400 on Tuesday night in dramatic fashion, a 10-9 walk-off victory over Longwood at Plumeri Park. With the win the Tribe improves to 22-14 overall, while the Lancers fall to 17-16 on the season.

With the win, Leoni notched his 134th victory at William and Mary, Leoni won 266 games as the head coach at Rhode Island before leaving URI for William and Mary as the Rams all-time winningest coach.

Ryan Brown hit his third walk-off of the season, a RBI single to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. Junior

On the mound, freshman
John Sheehan was solid, pitching 5.2 innings in his second start of the season. Sheehan allowed one earned run while striking out five. Out of the bullpen, sophomore
Jay McCarthy pitched 2.2 innings, striking out a pair on his way to the victory.
The College jumped on the visiting Lancers early on a beautiful night in Williamsburg, taking an early 2-0 lead after the first inning. After junior
Derrick Osteen reached second on a dropped fly ball, Bower made Longwood pay for its error, driving home Osteen with a RBI single up the middle. One batter later, with Bower now on third, a wild pitch allowed the sophomore to cross home plate, giving the Tribe a 2-0 advantage.
In the second frame, the tribe would double it lead thanks in part to another Longwood error. After a leadoff double from freshman
Derek Lowe, a wild pitch, and a walk, there were runners on second and third for Slattery. The junior wasted little time, plating Lowe with a single to right field. The Tribe then added another run on a throwing error, making its lead 4-0 after two full.
After Longwood scored four runs in the top of the third to tie the game, 4-4, the College again flexed its offensive muscle, scoring four of its own to retake the lead. After a leadoff double from freshman
Ryan Williams, Lowe drove him in with his second double of the day, putting runners on second and third for Osteen with one out. Osteen came through for W&M, knocking a two-run single to center field and moving to third on a fielding error by the Longwood centerfielder. Bower again made the Lancers pay for their mistakes, plating Osteen with an RBI groundout. After three innings, the Tribe held an 8-4 lead.
After two scoreless innings, the Lancers cut the Tribe lead in half, scoring two runs in the top of the sixth. In the bottom of the frame, the Tribe got one back on an RBI single from Jensen, pushing the College's cushion back to three, 9-6.
Longwood would come all the way back to tie the game heading into the bottom of the ninth, thanks to a pair of runs in the seventh and one in the ninth. In the bottom of the ninth, the Tribe got their inning started with Jensen getting hit by a pitch for the 12th time this season. One batter later, sophomore
Chris Forsten singled through the right side to put the winning run on third base, just 90 feet away.
One batter later, runners were on second and third for Brown, who has had game-winning hits against both Seton Hall and Delaware this season. Brown again came through in the clutch for the College, slapping a single down the third base line to score the winning run, securing Leoni's 400th win. Thanks to Brown's heroics, the Tribe defeated Longwood, 10-9.
The William and Mary Tribe baseball team will wrap up its six-game homestand on Wednesday, when the College plays host to Virginia Military Institute. First pitch at Plumeri Park is scheduled for 7 p.m.
