PHILADELPHIA - William and Mary's women's track and field team competed Thursday at the world-famous Penn Relay Carnival, earning three NCAA Regional qualifications, three career-best marks, and five ECAC qualifications.

In the 3,000m steeplechase, freshman
Betsy Graney (Harper Woods, Mich.) won the college division race with a career-fast 10:41.25, breaking the freshman record she set three weeks ago. Graney's time ranked her ninth across all three steeplechase sections (college, championship, and Olympic Development), and moves her past
Karen Pulliam '06 for third place on the Tribe's all-time top performers' list. Graney also reaffirmed her qualifications to the NCAA East Regional, ECAC Championships, and IAAF World Junior Championships.
In the 5,000m championship, crowd-favorite
Lynn Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.) ran a career-best 16:46.71 for 10th place and a spot at the NCAA East Regional. Also qualifying Morelli for the ECAC Championships, her time ranks just outside of the College's all-time top-10, and is the best mark on the team this season. In the 3,000m championship, sophomore
Kayley Byrne (Oak Hill, Va.) broke the 10-minute barrier for the first time, running 9:55.21 for 13th place and to qualify for the ECAC Championships.
In the field events, sophomore
Nicole Kazuba (Chantilly, Va.) reaffirmed her qualifications to the NCAA East Regional and ECAC Championships in the pole vault, tying for fourth in the championship division with a height of 12' 7.5". Junior
Abby Lemon (Berryville, Va.) was eighth in the college division of the hammer throw, recording a toss of 164' 3" to qualify for ECACs.

Emily Jeremiah (Mechanicsville, Va.) tied for 20th in the college division with a height of 11' 5.25", and senior
Erin Gnass (Brentwood, Tenn.) tied for 23rd with vault of 10' 11.5". The distance medley relay team of senior
Allie Lewis (Roanoke, Va.), junior
Ashley Madonick (Seaside Park, N.J.), and sophomores
Kelly McElroy (Wyomissing, Pa.) and
Meghan Burns (Coopersburg, Pa.) took 10th in the college division with a time of 11:41.16.
