W&M Men's Basketball Signs Two Recruits

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary and Tribe head coach Rick Boyages announced today the signing of two athletes to a letter of intent to play men's basketball at the College. Jack Jenkins and Taylor Mokris will both be eligible and available to play beginning with the 2002-03 season.

A 6-7 forward from Boston, Massachusetts, Jenkins has played for four years at Proctor Academy in Andover, NH. Averaging 22 points and 13 rebounds last season, he led his team to a Class B New England Prep School Championship. Following the 2000-01 campaign, Jenkins was named to the Class B first team, along with another junior and three seniors that went on to receive Division I scholarships.

"Jenkins is a versatile forward who combines inside strength with three-point range," said Boyages of the recruit. "He's also comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter. I think that he has the ability to be an impact player as a freshman."

Mokris is a 6-6 guard from Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. The leading scorer in the city of Charlotte last season, he averaged more than 22 points per game and is expected to finish his high school career with more than 1,500 points.

"Mokris is a true scorer," Boyages said. "He has a nice repertoire of offensive moves and deep shooting range behind the arc."
