NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Freshman Michelle Wolf (Hummelstown, PA) won the high jump as 2004 CAA Champion William and Mary women's track and field sent a limited number of athletes to contest the Christopher Newport Invitational this Saturday. Athletes from area programs Virginia Commonwealth, Richmond, Hampton and East Carolina were included in the field.
Wolf claimed the win in the high jump with a height of 5'0". Also turning in a solid day, sophomore
Liz Hager (Max Meadows, VA) took runner-up honors in the javelin, throwing for 119'3.5" and placed fourth in the hammer (126'8"). Junior
Erin Masterson (Annapolis, MD) captured second in the 800m, running a season-best time of 2:19.96. In the same race, Lindsay Ambrecht (Scarsdale, NY) set a new personal record by two seconds with a 2:29.18 to take fifth. In the 1,500m, junior
Ruth Loyer (Red Lion, PA) paced a season-best time of 5:00.66 for fifth.
