WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The William & Mary men's golf team will open its season at the Bryan National Collegiate hosted by UNCG this weekend.
The two-day, 54-hole event will be played at the Bryan Park Champions Course. Action will get underway with 36 holes on Saturday with the final round set for Sunday.

The Event
This weekend's tournament will mark the third consecutive season in which W&M has opened its fall state at the Bryan National Collegiate. The 13-team event will be contested on the par-72 Champions Course, which ranked as the runner-up in Golf Digest's Best New Public Courses when it opened in 1990 and hosted the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2010.
In addiiton to W&M and UNCG, the tournament will include: George Washington, Gardner-Webb, NC A&T, Longwood, LaSalle, Radford, Delaware, Queens, Georgetown, Davidson and IU Indy.
W&M placed third at the 14-team tournament last season and was led by a pair of Tribe standouts –
Preston Burton and
Talon Dingledine, who finished fourth and tied for eighth, respectively.

Luke Walmet, as well as junior
Grady Williams, the Tribe's 2026-27 roster also features four returning sophomores – Dingledine,
Eli Felty,
James Gayle and
Matthew Guy – as well as freshman
Whitty Richardson.

Last Season's Leaders
W&M returns its top three scorers from last season. The impressive group is led by Dingledine, who became the first player in program history to be honored as the CAA Rookie of the Year after recording a scoring average of 71.78. Additionally, the second-team All-CAA selection will be joined by Burton, who posted the fourth-best single-season scoring average in school history last year (72.69), and Felty whose 73.07 ranked sixth all-time at W&M.
The Tribe finished among the top five at all five of its tournaments last fall, which included a trio of top-three finishes and a team title at the OBX Intercollegiate.
Upcoming Fall Schedule
In addition to this weekend's opening trip to Greensboro, W&M will compete in four additional tournaments this fall. While the Tribe will make return trips to The Goat (Sept. 19-20), WVU Nemacolin College Invitational (Oct. 5-6) and OBX Intercollegiate (Oct. 25-27) for the second consecutive season, the slate will also feature the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate (Oct. 19-21).
