WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — An explosive first inning doomed William & Mary in a 12-2 loss to Campbell on Friday evening at Plumeri Park.
The Fighting Camels (20-10, 13-1 CAA) struck for eight runs in the opening frame en route to their victory. William & Mary (12-17, 4-7) held the visitors to six hits but was hurt by 10 walks.
Jamie Laskofski homered twice, part of a 3-for-3 day. It was the first career multi-home run game for the sophomore, who added a single in the fifth inning.
Three Tribe relievers registered scoreless outings between
Dylan McCarthy,
Derek Baker, and
Jack Weight. Baker went two innings with a pair of strikeouts.
David Rossow earned the win for Campbell, pitching a complete game.
Luke Calveric was tagged with the loss for W&M.
