Lauren Solis prepares to make a save during a game versus Longwood at Martin Family Stadium

Lax to Host Coastal Carolina on Saturday

2/26/2026 2:20:00 PM

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary lacrosse team will return to action when it hosts Coastal Carolina for the program's alumni and family game at Martin Family Stadium on Saturday at noon.

The contest will be broadcast on FloCollege, while live stats will be available at TribeAthletics.com.

Admission is free.

Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events). This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.

W&M-Coastal Carolina All-Time Series
W&M and CCU have played four times with each team winning two matchups. The Tribe won the only other contest played in Williamsburg, a 12-8 victory in 2014.

Last Meeting vs. Coastal Carolina
W&M opened its 2025 season with an impressive 13-11 win at Coastal Carolina, the defending ASUN Conference champions and preseason favorites to repeat. The contest was knotted at 8-8 entering the fourth quarter, but W&M opened the final frame with four unanswered goals – all coming by different players – to pull ahead 13-9 with 3:05 remaining. CCU countered with a pair of scores in the final minutes, but W&M secured the season-opening non-conference road win. The triumph marked Kelyn Freedman's first victory as head coach of the Tribe. Kate Draddy led a large contingent of W&M standouts who posted impressive season debuts, as she earned a hat trick on just four shots to go with a game-high six draw controls, a caused turnover and a ground ball. Defensively, goalie Marin Wilhelm tallied 13 saves, a .542 save percentage and three ground balls.

Last Time Out
W&M earned a 14-12 victory at George Mason on Saturday afternoon. The Tribe trailed by a goal late in the third quarter but rattled off a pivotal 5-1 run to build a 14-11 advantage with 5:16 remaining following a goal by Maresa Moyer off an assist by Finley Hoffman. Mason answered with a score by Matye Riley with 3:24 left but was unable to narrow the margin any closer as W&M secured the non-conference road victory. The matchup was closely contested throughout, as it featured six ties and neither team led by more than three goals at any point. Seven different Tribe standouts combined to score W&M's eight goals during the second half. Grace Walter (3g, 2a) and Hoffman (3g, 1a) led the Tribe with hat tricks, while Aubrey Roth (2g, 3a), Nora Begley (2g) and Taylor McCall (2g) provided two goals apiece.

Underclassmen Impact
W&M's freshmen and sophomores have scored 73.5 percent (39 of 53) of the team's goals this season, as the Tribe's top three scorers – Mila Millhouse (9g), Grace Walter (8g) and Taylor McCall (7g) – are all underclassmen.

CAA Rookie of the Week Honors
After posting outstanding performances, a pair of W&M standout freshmen have been selected as the CAA Rookie of the Week this season. Mila Millhouse earned the honor on Feb. 16, while Nora Begley garnered the distinction on Feb. 23.

Second Half Surges
W&M has outscored its opponents by a 10-goal margin (33-23) during the second half of games this season. Additionally, 62.2 percent of W&M's goals (33 of 53) have come after halftime.

Big Margin
W&M's 20-5 victory against Longwood in its home opener marked the program's largest margin of victory since its 21-3 win at Stetson in 2013. Additionally, the Tribe's goal total marked the program's highest scoring output since 2022 when it earned a 20-15 win at Campbell, while the defensive performance marked the fewest goals allowed by W&M since 2020 when it defeated Old Dominion, 11-4.

Record Watch
Kate Draddy currently ranks fourth all-time at W&M in draw controls (143) and needs 11 more to pass Grace Golden for third in the Tribe's all-time record book. Additionally, she has 31 career assists and needs 10 more to move into the Tribe's all-time top-10 list.

Goalie Marin Wilhelm currently ranks 10th at W&M with 267 career saves and needs 52 to pass Lisa Dixon for ninth.

Jaylin Locke is also closing in on the Tribe's top-10 list for career caused turnovers (49) and needs just three more to tie Molly Wannen for 10th.

Overtime Success
The Tribe has won four of its last six OT games dating back to 2019. One of those two setbacks, however, came against George Mason in 2024.

Academic Excellence
During the fall, W&M was once again recognized for its academic excellence as it recorded the second-highest Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) among all Division I public institutions. Lax helped lead the way and earned a 100% GSR for the eighth straight season.
