JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Matchups for the 2025 Jacksonville Classic were released on Thursday. The Jacksonville Classic is the largest MTE on the East Coast with 10 teams competing in the three-day event, Nov. 23-25, on the campus of Edward Waters University.
William & Mary will open the event on Monday, Nov. 24, against Conference USA foe UTEP, before taking on Abilene Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 25. The Tribe and UTEP have met on two occasions, both when UTEP was Texas Western, in 1963 and 1964. The Miners won both contests. It will be the first meeting between W&M and ACU.
Last season, UTEP finished the year at 18-15, its second-straight season with 18 wins. Under fifth-year head coach Joe Golding, the Miners finished eighth in Conference USA with seven wins. Abilene Christian was 16-16 in 2024-25. The Wildcats finished fourth in the WAC at 8-8 under fifth-year head coach Brette Tanner.

In its first season under head coach
Brian Earl, the Tribe enjoyed one of the top turnarounds in the country, finishing with a 17-15 record. The 17 wins rank 12th in program history, while the Tribe produced 11 CAA wins for just the fifth time. W&M debuted a new style of play featuring a fast-paced tempo. The Green and Gold ranked among the national leaders in tempo, 3-point shooting, scoring, and assists.
W&M returns seven players from last season, including five seniors in
Chase Lowe,

Kyle Frazier,
Miles Hicks, and
Finn Lally. The Tribe added eight players over the off-season, including transfers

The Tribe kicks off the 2025-26 season at home against a Division II opponent in Georgian Court on Monday, Nov. 3. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on FloCollege.
