WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary baseball team returns to Plumeri Park for a midweek contest against nearby rival Old Dominion on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. on the Tribe Sports Network.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tribe was swept at the hands of East Carolina last weekend, nearly stealing a win in game three after erasing a six-run deficit before falling 9-8. W&M scored six runs in the second inning and pounded out 12 hits. OF
Ben Parker led the way with a 4-for-5 outing, his second four-hit game of the week, adding two runs, two doubles, and three RBI.
HITS MCGEE

Lucas Carmichael had a 3-for-5 day at the plate on Saturday at ECU, giving him hits in six straight games and 12 of his last 13. Carmichael's 29 hits on the year ranks second on the team behind only Parker (32).
CAA STANDOUTS
Parker and Carmichael now rank 1-2 atop the CAA leader boards in total hits. Parker had a mammoth series against ECU, going 7-for-12 with three doubles and four RBI over the three games. In Division I, he ranks top-100 in batting average, runs, hits doubles, triples, and total bases.
CAREER MILESTONE
Parker also recorded his 100th hit with the Tribe on Friday. He is a career .355 hitter with the Green & Gold and has 281 career base knocks between his time at W&M and Whitman College.
PITCHIN' PIERCE

Owen Pierce tossed a career-high 5.2 innings in relief in game three against East Carolina, giving up two runs and scattering six hits. He now leads the CAA and ranks 50th nationally with a 1.80 ERA. The junior also has the fourth-lowest hits per nine (5.40) and seventh-highest strikeouts per nine (10.35) in the conference.
STAT NUGGETS
- OF Charlie Iriotakis is working on a career-best six game hitting streak. He's also upped his power numbers, registering eight RBI over that span to give him 18 for the year. That ranks third on the team.
- INF Owen Wilson posted his third multi-hit game in his last six outings with a 2-for-4 day in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
- Since March 2, INF Anthony Greco is slashing .389/.633/.556 with seven RBI.
- W&M has 23 hits over its last two games. The Tribe continues to lead the conference in batting avergae (.314) and runs (148).
- The Tribe has four regulars hitting over .300: Parker (.410), INF Derek Holmes (.383), Carmichael (.367), and OF Christian Rush (.311).
SERIES HISTORY
Old Dominion is the Tribe's second-most frequently opponent with 150 all-time matchups in a series dating back to 1955. The Monarchs have won three straight, the last Tribe win coming on the road in 2022. The teams were CAA rivals from 1992-2013.
