WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The William & Mary baseball team will welcome Marist for a three-game series this weekend at Plumeri Park. The modified schedule will feature a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday, with a single game to follow on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Due to winter weather impacting the area, select seating sections of Plumeri Park may be closed to fans. Please pay attention to all signage within the stadium for seating section restrictions. In addition stadium, gates will open 30 minutes prior to first pitch on Saturday and 90 minutes prior to first pitch on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
W&M fell to Richmond 12-3 on Tuesday. The Tribe was hurt by five errors which led to five unearned Spider runs. OF
Lucas Carmichael went 2-for-4, posting his second straight multi-hit game. Carmichael is 7-for-11 over his last three outings. OF
Christian Rush also went 2-for-4 with a run. Freshman RHP
Jack Weight got two outs in the ninth, including a strikeout for his first scoreless appearance with the Tribe.
RAKING EARLY
It's still early, but OF Ben Parker ranks top-30 nationally in batting average at .615 (8-for-13). Among players who have played at least four games, the Los Altos, Calif. native ranks ninth in BA. Now that Parker has enough at-bats to qualify, his .351 career average ranks 12th in program history.
STILL HOT
INF Matthew Kosuda has yet to slow down. The freshman is batting .364 with a hit, RBI, or run in three of four games.
STAT NUGGETS
- The Tribe's 22 walks ranks third in the CAA and 73rd in Division I.
- Their 39 runs are second in the conference and 35th nationally.
- RHP Daniel Lingle has already made three appearances this season. Only 39 pitchers in Division I have done so.
SERIES HISTORY
William & Mary has won all six games against Marist, including home sweeps in 2019 and 2023. The Feb. 26, 2023 contest saw the Tribe put up 33 runs, the third-most in a single-game in program history. (The Tribe also scored 34 runs against Norfolk State later that year.)
