WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track and field will kick off the 2025-26 indoor season with three meets this week, starting with the Liberty Kickoff on Thursday and Friday and followed by select groups at Navy and Boston University on Saturday.
The Liberty Kickoff will get underway with heptathlon and pentathlon events at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday and continue through the evening, with the action resuming on Friday at 9 a.m. Both meets at Navy and Boston will last all day on Saturday. OPENING NOTES
- The Tribe returns numerous key pieces from last year's squad that had four champions and 12 medalists at the CAA Indoor Championships.
- Standout pole vaulter
Elizabeth Strobach looks to defend her CAA crown from last season. Three members of the first-place men's distance medley relay team are back in
Brendan DiStefano,
Jacob Robinson, and
Collin Walsh, along with men's 800m champion
Jonathan Kumer.
- The men's 4x400m relay team of Robinson,
David Seekford,
Austin Rice, and
Charlie Bestic will look to improve upon their school-record time of 3:12.40 set at the CAA Championships last February.
- Coming off country season, W&M has high hopes for its distance group. Six total Tribe runners won All-CAA honors in cross country, led by second-place
Perry Irons for the women and third-place
Hayes Trapp for the men. Joining them on the all-conference list was
Molly Weithman, DiStefano,
Caleb Wilcox, and
Eli Phillips. The Tribe women finished second as a team at the CAA Championships while the men took fourth.
UP NEXT
After the winter break, the team will resume competition at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge in Chapel Hill, N.C. from Jan. 16-17.
