• Nice Stuff, Nat
Natalie Fox has stepped up on the offensive end during the Tribe's four-game win streak, culminating in a career-high 18 points on Saturday against Coppin State. Fox posted an efficent 7-of-10 from the floor in the win and has now scored in double-figures in every game during the winning streak. Her seven double figure games this season is the most of the team.
• WWWWinning Streak
The Tribe's four-game non-conference winning streak is its longest in the non-conference under
Erin Dickerson Davis and first since 2016. W&M's five non-league wins ties the most under Davis as well. The last time the Tribe won six-plus non-conference games was in 2019-20 when the Green and Gold started the season 9-2.
• Lex Stuffs the Stat Sheet
Alexa Mikeska put together an impressive all-around perfomance on Saturday posting 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. The outing also marked the senior's first double-figure scoring game in two seasons after battling injury for much of last year.
• Point Forwards
Both
Natalie Fox and Tika Sallman have not only been scoring at a high-level but also racking up assists. Both Fox and Sallman notched career-highs in helpers with five against American on Dec. 7. Sallman posted three assists in the win at Wake Forest while Fox dished out four assists last game against Coppin State.
• Dropping Dimes
During the last three games the Tribe has made it a habit to share the ball. W&M has had 16-plus assists in each of the last three games. Five different players have had multiple assists in a game during that span.
• Spread the Wealth
Fitting in with W&M prowess sharing the ball over the last three games, the Tribe has also been very balanced in the scoring column. The Green and Gold has had at least three players in double figures in each of the last three games and currently has four players (
Cassidy Geddes,
Natalie Fox,
Monet Dance and Tika Sallman) averaging 9.9 points per game or more.
• Money Mo
After a relatively quiet start on the offensive end,
Monet Dance has found her stride, scoring in double figures in three of the last four games. Her gamehigh 22 points at Tennessee State kicked off the run, the second 20-plus point game of her career.
• Cass Doubles Down
Cassidy Geddes not only led the Tribe in scoring for the fourth time this season against Howard, but the junior was impactful as a rebounder from the guard position. Geddes snagged 10 rebounds to go with her 17 points for the first double-double of her career. She joins
Natalie Fox,
Alexa Mikeska and Tika Sallman as the four players on the Tribe's roster to have double-doubles in their career.
• Winning the Turnover Battle
The Tribe currently ranks third in the CAA in turnover margin at +3.0 per game. W&M has won or broke even on the turnover battle in seven of the last eight games.
• Nat on the Glass
After a strong freshman season,
Natalie Fox is poised for another solid season in Green and Gold in 2025- 26. The LaGrangeville, N.Y. native scored in double figures in the first three games this season, the first time in her career she has scored 10-plus in three straight outings. The sophomore grabbed a career-high 13 boards on Sunday at Howard surpassing her previous watermark of 12. Through five outings Fox leads the team at 7.8 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 9.2 per game.
• More Mikeska
The lone senior on the squad,
Alexa Mikeska has shown off her maturity in taking care of the ball this year. The California native leads the CAA in assist/turnover ratio at 2.58. That is also good for 35th nationally.
• Star of the Show
Tika Sallman was named CAA Player of the Week for Dec. 8 after averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 67% from the floor. The Cairo, Egypt native keyed W&M's upset of Wake Forest, posting 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Sallman ranks second in the CAA in FG% (60.4) and FT% (82.6).
• Pick-pocketing
The 26 turnovers forced by the Tribe against Tennessee State was its most vs. a DI opponent since the 2023-24 season when it forced 26 miscues twice against Hofstra on Jan. 26 and, coincidentally, against TSU on Nov. 24 of that year.
• Major Upset
W&M's win over Wake Forest marked a series of firsts.
- The first win over a power-conference opponent since Clemson in 2015.
- The first win over Wake Forest in school history.
- The first non-conference road winning streak since 2020.
- The first loss for Wake Forest, previously the ACC's lone remaining unbeaten team.
• Closing the Deal
Under
Erin Dickerson Davis the Tribe is 39-11 when leading at halftime and a perfect 4-0 this season.
• 60 is the Magic Number
60 points is a key number for W&M. The Tribe is 25-9 under
Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 40-5 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21. Offensively, the Tribe is 50-16 when scoring over 60 and 4-34 when held below 60 under Davis. W&M is a perfect 5-0 this year when scoring at least 60 points.
• Comeback Kids
W&M's historic CAA title run last season didn't come without adversity and deficits along the way. The Tribe trailed top-seed N.C. A&T in the quarterfinals by 12 points in the middle of the third before coming back to force overtime and earn a win. Campbell was the next victim of a W&M comeback in the championship, getting out to a 14-0 lead and again leading by 13 in the third before succumbing to a Tribe offensive bombardment that included a 61.5% shooting effort in the fourth. The Tribe only had won once when trailing at the half in the regular season.
• Tribe on TV
Naturally, last season brought a new-level of national attention to the Tribe program, with W&M playing a program record 12 games on linear television. Additionally, W&M played its first three nationally televised games in program history in 2024-25. The Green and Gold will be on TV a minimum of 10 times this season with 10 home matchups broadcast on MASN.
• Excellence From E
No other coach in William & Mary women's basketball history has had the success that
Erin Dickerson Davis has had through three seasons. With the 16 wins last year, Davis became the first Tribe coach to win 15- plus games in each of their first three seasons. The Tribe won 12 conference games in each of her first two years, tying the program record for CAA wins in season. W&M's first win of the season against Barton was Davis's 50th in her head coaching career.
