RICHMOND, Va. – After establishing themselves among the top players in the CAA,
11 William & Mary football standouts earned postseason all-conference honors on Tuesday.
Highlighting the Tribe's honorees are four first-team selections – offensive lineman
Ryan McKenna, linebacker
Luke Banbury, cornerback
Jalen Jones and specialist
Stephon Hicks.
Offensive lineman
Kadin Lynch earned second-team distinction, while quarterback
Tyler Hughes, fullback/halfback
Sean McElwain, tight end
Jackson Blee, defensive lineman
Justin Krueger and punter
Carter Boyd garnered third-team honors.
Wide receiver
Deven Thompson was chosen honorable mention.
All-CAA First Team
Ryan McKenna, OL – Three-time All-CAA selection (2023, 2024, 2025) … Earned 47 career starts, which is just one shy of the program record set by B.W. Webb (2008-12) and Peter Reid (1987-91) … Two-time team captain … Helped W&M rank fourth in the CAA in scoring (29.5) and No. 1 in the league in red zone scoring conversions (91.1 %) … Campbell Trophy Semifinalist in 2024.
Luke Banbury, LB – Buck Buchanan Award Finalist … Led the CAA and ranked fourth nationally in tackles per game (11.4) … Finished the season with 137 tackles – the most by a W&M player since 1998 (Kerry Gray, 143) … Also totaled 2 sacks, 5.5 TFL, six PBU and a fumble recovery … Honored as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week twice … Recorded a career-high 17 tackles with 2 sacks and 3 TFL in the win against North Carolina A&T … Posted double-digit tackle totals in eight games … The Cornell grad transfer finished his career with 278 tackles.
Jalen Jones, CB – Buck Buchanan Award Finalist … Three-time All-CAA selection (2022, 2024, 2025) … Ranked second in the CAA and 14th nationally with 1.09 passes defended per game … Tied for third in the CAA with two interceptions … Ranked third in the CAA with 10 PBU … Also finished the season with 39 tackles and 1.5 TFL … Ranks second in school history with 52 passes defended during his career, which included eight interceptions … All-America first-team selection by six organizations in 2024 … Former CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year (2022) and finalist for the Jerry Rice Award (2022).
Stephon Hicks, SPEC – Led the nation in blocked punts (4), which was just one shy of equaling the FCS single-season record … Returned one of his blocked punts for a touchdown, coming in the win at Hampton … Helped W&M earn Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Players of the Week (as a team) following the win against UAlbany … Also blocked punts in the victories against Maine and Charleston Southern … Finished the season with 23 tackles, 2 sack, 3 TFL and two forced fumbles.
All-CAA Second Team
Kadin Lynch, OL – Started all 24 games the past two seasons … Helped W&M rank fourth in the CAA in scoring (29.5) and No. 1 in the league in red zone scoring conversions (91.1 %).
All-CAA Third Team
Tyler Hughes, QB – First-year starter who emerged as one of the nation's most productive quarterbacks … Became the first player in the program's 134-year history to pass for more than 2,000 yards and rush for more than 600 yards … Threw a school-record 266 consecutive passes without an interception between the opener at Furman and the win at Hampton … Ranked tied for first in the CAA in touchdown passes (20) … His 11 rushing touchdowns ranked tied for first in the CAA among quarterbacks and tied for fourth among all players … Ranked third in the CAA in passing efficiency (149.3) … Ranked 11th in the CAA in rushing (55.8).
Sean McElwain, FB/HB – Two-time All-CAA selection (2024, 2025) … Totaled 12 receptions for 186 yards and three touchdowns despite missing the final five games due to injury … Averaged 15.5 yards per catch … Two of his three touchdowns came against conference opponents … Career stats include 55 receptions for 907 yards and nine touchdowns.
Jackson Blee, TE – Totaled 25 receptions for 311 yards and three touchdowns … Recorded three catches for 77 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the win against Charleston Southern … Posted a career-high nine catches for 78 yards with a touchdown in the victory against UAlbany.
Justin Krueger, DL – Honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week following the win against Elon in which he totaled a career-high seven tackles with a sack and 1.5 TFL … Finished the season with 52 tackles, 2 sacks, 8 TFL, two forced fumbles and three PBU.
Carter Boyd, P – Led the CAA by pinning opponents inside their own 20-yard line with 41.3 percent of his punts … Pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 19 times, which was just one shy of tying for first in the CAA … In the win versus UAlbany he pinned the Great Danes inside their own 20 with three of his four punts, including two inside the 10 and one downed at the 1 … In the win against Elon he pinned the Pheonix inside its own 25-yard line with all six of his punts, including two inside the 10.
All-CAA Honorable Mention
Deven Thompson, WR – Ranked second in the CAA and seventh nationally in yards per catch (20.74) … Ranked tied for sixth in the CAA in touchdown receptions (6) … Also led W&M in receptions (27) and receiving yards (560) … His 50.9 receiving yards per game also led the Tribe … Recorded multiple touchdown catches in two games, coming in wins against Elon and Hampton … Totaled five receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown at Virginia.
