Last Time Out
The Tribe were unable to recover from an early deficit in its postseason opener as Delaware scratched five runs across in the first inning. Despite cutting into the Blue Hens' lead, a pair of late runs took the game out of reach for the Tribe.

Mark Hindy made an impressive relief appearance, going 4.0 scoreless innings, fanning six and allowing just a pair of hits, but the Tribe did not have the run support to come all the way back from an early deficit.

Throwback Thursday
In 2016, W&M's most recent CAA Championship year, the team fell in the opening game of the CAA tournament. Facing elimination, the Tribe went on to take down Northeastern in game two, marking the first of six consecutive elimination game victories. Among those, the Tribe eliminated CAA tournament host Charleston and 2016 Charlottesville Regional host Virginia.

W&M proved their ability to play with their backs up against a wall in a gritty win on Saturday at Campbell, as the Tribe fought to avoid elimination in its final regular season game. The Tribe looks to bring that same energy into Thursday's contest, in hopes of securing a playoff victory and advancing to competition Friday.

The Opponent
W&M is slated to take on Northeastern for the first time in 2024 on Thursday morning, meeting the team for the first time since their regular season weekend series in 2023. The Tribe earned a pair of victories to take the CAA series.

Most recently in the postseason, W&M fell in a one-run game to the Huskies in 2022, a 3-2 Northeastern win.

In the all-time series, W&M leads 27-24, carrying a two-game winning streak which dates back to May 13, 2023.
