W&M-ODU All-Time Series
W&M owns a commanding 40-12 advantage in the all-time series and has won 13 of the last 16 contests.

Last Meeting vs. ODU
W&M opened its road slate with an 11-9 victory at ODU last season. Although ODU jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage, W&M held the Monarchs to just one goal during a span of more than 30 minutes to build an 8-3 lead late in the third quarter. ODU narrowed the margin to just two goals on multiple occasions down the stretch, but the Tribe held on for the non-conference triumph. Sam Van Gieson totaled a team-high four goals on five shots while Sydney Witwer (3g) and Kate Draddy (2g, 1a) added three points apiece.

Looking for a Strong Start
As W&M opens its season looking for a strong start, it will do so with four of its first five games coming on the road. Additionally, the Tribe will play its first nine games in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Seizing the Moment
During the last two seasons, W&M has posted a 4-1 record in games decided by just one goal.

Record Watch
One of the most successful goalies in school history, Elise Palmer is ranked ninth in school history in career saves (309). She needs just 10 more saves to pass Lisa Dixon for eighth on the all-time list.

Caroline Hertzberg currently ranks 10th all-time at W&M in draw controls (104), while her 51 career caused turnovers is just one shy of moving into the program's all-time top-10 list.

Courtney Vasquenza is also closing in on W&M's top-10 list for caused turnovers with 35.

Up Next
Following this weekend's home opener against ODU, W&M will return to action when it plays at No. 20 Richmond next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
