WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's cross country put three runners in the top 50 on the way to finishing 13th in the Gold 6K Race at the 49th Paul Short Run.
The Tribe, which entered the week ranked No. 12 in the Southeast Region, outdistanced 11 regionally-ranked foes. That list included Bucknell (No. 8 Mid-Atlantic Region), UMass Lowell (No. 10 Northeast Region), George Washington (No. 10 Mid-Atlantic Region), Maryland (No. 11 Mid-Atlantic Region), Yale (No. 12 Northeast Region), Rutgers (No. 12 Mid-Atlantic Region), Lehigh (No. 13 Mid-Atlantic Region), Stony Brook (No. 14 Northeast Region), Georgia (No. 15 South Region), UMass Amherst (No. 15 Northeast Region), and Rider (No. 15 Mid-Atlantic Region).
Sophomore
Sofia Istnick once again paced the Tribe. She ran the 6K course in a time of 21:09.9 to take 33rd in the 393-runner field.

Catherine Garrison and junior
Arianna DeBoer both finished in the top 50 as well. Garrison was 57th after the opening mile and moved up 17 spots over the remained of the race to place 40th in a time of 21:15.8. DeBoer was just a second behind her teammate taking 43rd position in a time of 21:16.8.
Junior
Lucy Young and senior
Emily Sell rounded out the Tribe's scoring five, finishing in 122nd (21:56.5) and 185th (22:24.8), respectively.
No. 24-ranked Utah Valley claimed the team title in the 44-team field with 77 points. Wake Forest and Boston University rounded out the top three at 129 and 176, respectively. W&M topped a pair of CAA foes in Stony Brook (14th at 454 points) and Monmouth (30th at 755 points).
