Dear Friends of William & Mary Athletics,
Â
For the past two years, you've been gracious enough to take the time to read The Mannuscript. On behalf of Tribe Athletics, thank you!
Â
In order to make sure we are giving you the information you are most interested in, we're asking you to take 2 minutes to
fill out this reader survey. As an added bonus, if you are interested in leaving some contact info, we will randomly select five lucky winners to receive some new Tribe gear!
Â
Another huge thank you goes out to all of our steadfast friends and fans who continue to show their support for Athletics as we near the end of our fiscal year. In the last six weeks, 570 of you have given more than $1,826,500 to your favorite teams; allowing us to close in on our overall goals. If you are considering a gift, there's still time to make a difference before we close our books on June 30; by
clicking here you can choose your favorite William & Mary program to support.
Â
Summer may be a time of rest and relaxation for most of us, but many of our student-athletes are as busy as ever:
- Jason Nwosu is being honored as the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year. Teammates Daniel Layton and Stephen Larson also earned All-CAA honors.

Jason Nwosu was honored as the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year for 2023
- Catherine Garrison of women's track and field is the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year. She was joined by nine teammates who received All-CAA honors (link to story).
- Third baseman Ben Williamson was named the first Player of the Week as a member of the Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League. In the first six games of the season, Ben hit .500 with four doubles and two RBIs.
- Â Â Liv Cantby of women's track and field traveled home to Denmark to soak up some sun and to compete in the DM Senior event where she took first in the javelin throw. For good measure, she also broke her own William & Mary school record.Â
- Next month Lauren Curran, Maddie George, Pyper Friedman and Jayden Moon of field hockey will compete in the 2023 Senior Nexus Championship presented by Osaka Hockey.
(L-R) Maddie George, Jayden Moon, Pyper Friedman and Lauren Curran will compete in the 2023 Senior Nexus Championship
(L-R) Conor Sokolowsky, Matthew Feinstein (men's golf) and Daniel Layton (men's track and field) were recipients of the prestigious Colonial Athletic Association Leadership and Sport Excellence Award
Our Tribe Scribe, Dave Johnson, took some time to reflect on the 2022-23 athletics year and put together the following piece where he
highlights some of the brightest moments/accomplishments for our Tribe.Â
Â
Earlier this week I saw something on Twitter that made me marvel again at the creativity and community engagement demonstrated by our student-athletes. Women's basketball's Kayla Beckwith and football's Hollis Mathis are giving us a preview of a new show they are hosting on
@TribeAthletics called
Kickin' It With KB & 12. Check it out; it's fun and you'll get to know our Tribe a little better!Â
Â
As we wrap up this academic and fiscal year, we will be taking a short break with The Mannuscript until mid-August. Meantime, please enjoy your summer, but before you head to the beach, remember to let us know your thoughts by filling out the
Mannuscript survey (link).Â
Thank you!
Â
Go Tribe!
