Box Score GREENSBORO, NC- Jerry Barnes III hit his first career homer with one out in the ninth, but that was all the Tribe could muster offensively in a 2-1 defeat to North Carolina A&T Friday evening in Greensboro. Nate Knowles was the tough-luck losing pitcher, tossing 4.0 innings allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts. 
 
Zach Tsakounis followed Knowles and allowed a solo homer in the sixth, but was otherwise unblemished in his 2.0 innings of relief. Carter Lovasz finished the final two frames for the pitching staff and allowed zero runs on two hits. 
 
The Tribe produced no hits in the opening two innings, and A&T would take the lead as a two-out single followed by a triple plated the game's opening run. The Tribe would get the tying run to second with no outs in the fourth via a Joe Delossantos walk and stolen base, and again in the fifth on a Luca Danos double, but was unable to capitalize.
 
Tsakounis retired three straight in the fifth to strand men on second and third, but the Aggies would tack on a crucial insurance run in the form of a solo shot in the sixth. 
 
Barnes launched his solo shot on an 0-1 pitch with one out in the ninth, but William & Mary could not bring in the tying run as Cooley Kilpatrick finished off the complete game to earn his third win of the year.
