After having its 11-game regular-season winning streak snapped with a 14-6 setback at Elon last weekend, W&M (4-1, 2-1 CAA) will look to bounce back at Virginia on Saturday. W&M Head Coach Mike London has led three different FCS teams to wins against FBS squads – Richmond def. Duke (2009); Howard def. UNLV (2017); W&M def. Charlotte (2022). The Tribe boasts one of the nation's top ground attacks and currently ranks fourth nationally in rushing yards per game (258.2). W&M's defense currently leads the country in scoring defense (10.8) and ranks second in total defense (200.6) and third down defense (.200). Additionally, it ranks fourth in passing defense (121.6) and seventh in rushing defense (79.0).

Virginia (0-5, 0-2 ACC) is looking for its first win this season after opening the year with losses in its first five contests. Quarterbacks Anthony Colandrea and Tony Muskett have combined to throw for 252.8 yards per game, while wideout Malik Washington is averaging 111.2 receiving yards per contest with four touchdowns. The Cavaliers' defense is allowing 35.6 points per game.

Saturday's contest at Virginia will mark the 39th meeting between the two schools, as UVA holds a 31-6-1 advantage in the all-time series. W&M's last victory in the series came in 2009, while the Cavaliers have won the last five matchups.
