WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After opening its season with impressive back-to-back victories, the No. 16 William & Mary football team will look to remain unbeaten when it plays at No. 9/8 Lehigh on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The contest will be W&M's second road matchup versus a top-10 opponent, as it opened the 2026 campaign with a 35-32 win at then-No. 8/7 Villanova.

After earning a 22-15 win against Delaware State in its last outing, W&M ascended to No. 16 in both national polls this week. The Tribe has forced 10 turnovers through the first two games and leads the nation in the category, while its +8 turnover margin is also the country's best. In addition leading the nation with six interceptions, W&M also leads the Patriot League and ranks 10th nationally in team passing efficiency defense (121.4) and has allowed just one passing touchdown.
Off to a 2-0 start with lopsided wins against Holy Cross and Georgetown, Lehigh enters Saturday's contest ranked No. 9/8 nationally. The Mountain Hawks currently rank fifth nationally in rushing (291.5) and are also among the country's top 10 in passing efficiency (182.4). Additionally, LU is allowing just 12.0 points per game – a figure that ranks eighth nationally.
W&M leads the all-time series against Lehigh, 8-1, and has won three of the four games played in Bethlehem. The Tribe won the last meeting, 26-13, at Zable Stadium in 1992, while Lehigh claimed the last matchup in Bethlehem, 41-37, in 1991. All nine previous matchups came in consecutive years, spanning from 1984-92.
