Milestone Victories and Building Momentum
Head Coach Ryan Adams has seen to one of the Tribe's most successful seasons in recent years in his first season at the helm of W&M volleyball. Both Adams and the team reached milestones in the series-opening victory against NC A&T on Oct. 19.

Adams recorded his 50th career win as a head coach with his 12th at William & Mary.

The team's 12th win of the year also tied 2022 for the most single-season victories since the Tribe's 13 in 2012. It also marked the seventh CAA win of the year, passing 2022 and 2013 for the most in a single season since 2009's 10-win campaign.

With three more weeks of conference play, the Tribe will take on Stony Brook, Northeastern and UNCW, and look to continue building momentum.

League Leader
Olivia Esposito again rises in the national rankings as she continues to display her dominance on the attack, clocking in at No. 19 in the NCAA in hitting percentage (.407). She's also ranked nationally at No. 44 in blocks per set (1.27). In each of these categories, she leads the CAA. Last week against NC A&T, Esposito hit at a team-best .458 clip. She also recorded eight total blocks, adding 1.14 b/s in the series.

Brick Wall at the Net
In conference play, senior middle blocker Sabrina Malcolm has recorded a team-leading eight solo blocks among her 36 total blocks. Over the past three weekends of CAA play, Malcolm doubled her in-conference solo blocks, adding three against Elon alone. On the season, she leads the Tribe with 11 solo blocks and is second on the team in total blocks with 64.

Fearless Freshman
Freshman Katherine Arnason has made herself a staple of the Tribe's offensive system, catching action in every set for the last three weekends and starting one match. In that time frame, Arnason has recorded 29 kills (1.45 per set) and seven blocks. The lefty right side has totaled 84 kills on the season, averaging 1.50 per set and is fourth on the team with 33 total blocks.

Dynamic Duo
The duo of Eleanor Stothoff and Sabrina Malcolm have combined for the most blocks in the past two weekends than any other pair of Tribe players. Adding three blocks as a pair in W&M's Thursday night match against NC A&T, the two pose a difficult challenge at the net for opponents.

Meet the Opponent
Stony Brook has posted a 10-13 record on the season and a 5-7 record in the CAA.

The Seawolves have dropped their four most recent matches, snapping a six-game winning streak with a pair of losses to both Delaware and Towson.

Sophomore opposite Kali Moore leads the Seawolves with 253 kills and an impressive 3.20 kills per set. Torri Henry, the senior setter, leads the CAA in assists per set with 10.65. She has totaled 863 assists on the year, serving as the primary setter for Stony Brook.

Series History
Last year marked the teams' first contest as CAA opponents, as Stony Brook joined the league ahead of the 2022 season. In their first in-conference weekend series, the Tribe took the first meeting since 2006 in straight sets and the Seawolves responded with a five-set victory to split the weekend.

Of the four meetings between the teams, three have been hosted in Williamsburg, Va., and one occurred at a neutral site in Annapolis, Md. This weekend marks the first time W&M volleyball will travel to Stony Brook, N.Y., to face the Seawolves.

The series, which began with a W&M win in 1984, has taken a pair of near-two decade hiatuses in its history. This marks the first time the teams will play in back-to-back years.

In their brief history as opponents, the Tribe is 1-1 against Stony Brook in the month of October (10/1-2/2022).
