WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- Tribe baseball coach has announced that former William & Mary baseball player and current Director of Player Development for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Will Rhymes will be the keynote speaker at the annual First Pitch Dinner this February. Rhymes graduated from William & Mary in 2005 and would go on to play three seasons in the MLB.
During his time in Williamsburg, Rhymes twice earned All-CAA honors. The infielder hit .388 with 52 runs scored and eight homers as a junior and slashed 92 hits for a .413 average in his senior season. He went on to get drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2005 MLB draft and play professionally for the Tigers and the Tampa Bay Rays.
Since March of 2019 Rhymes has served as the Director of Player Development in the Dodgers baseball operations department. With Rhymes in the position, the Dodgers have thrived as one of the sport's most dominant teams winning a World Series, three division titles, and having a win percentage of over .650 in each of the past four seasons.
