KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The William & Mary men's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year, the organization announced on Thursday. It marks the ninth-straight season and 11th overall that the Tribe earned the distinction.
The Green and Gold was one of 220 men's teams across all levels (DI, DII, DIII and NAIA) to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, including one of 94 Division I programs and one of six CAA teams. The Tribe recorded a team GPA of 3.21 to earn the accolade.
As a program, the Tribe has enjoyed significant success in the classroom. In total, nine players earned W&M Provost Awards last season with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. The program also produced 15 Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selections.
W&M kicks off the exhibition portion of the schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 16 against Loyola Maryland. The Tribe hosts its final exhibition match against American on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 4 p.m.
The Green and Gold starts the regular season on the road at George Washington on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. The home slate begins against Coastal Carolina on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 4 p.m. Tickets for the 2022 season are now on sale. Visit the ticket office at
