RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary men's soccer freshman Brown Huffard was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The honor is the first Offensive Player of the Week award of Huffard's collegiate career. The McLean, Va., native has also been named the CAA Rookie of the Week three times this season.
Huffard scored three goals across two games last week, helping the Tribe to a 4-0 victory over Navy on Tuesday and a 1-1 draw at Charleston on Saturday.
The freshman recorded the first multi-goal game of his collegiate career against Navy, opening the scoring in the 25th minute before finding the back of the net again in the 62nd minute to extend W&M's advantage to 3-0.
Huffard continued his scoring streak Saturday at Charleston, scoring the equalizer in the 34th minute to erase an early deficit and help the Tribe secure a point in CAA play.
The freshman has now scored in three consecutive games, totaling four goals during that stretch. He leads the Green and Gold with seven goals this season, tied for second in the CAA, and ranks third on the team with 15 points.
Huffard's performance helped William & Mary extend its unbeaten streak to three games, improving to 7-5-2 overall and 2-2-2 in CAA action.
The Tribe return to CAA action Saturday, Oct. 24, traveling to face Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
William & Mary then travel to North Carolina on Tuesday, Oct. 27, before closing the regular season against UNCW on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
