RICHMOND, VA.- For the second time this season,
Cole Ragone has been named the CAA Player of the Week as announced by the league Monday afternoon. The senior smacked a pair of homers to go with 10 RBI and five runs scored, helping the tribe to a 4-0 week.
Â
On Wednesday, Ragone took a single through the right side of the infield to plate a pair of runs in the Tribe's 5-0 win over Old Dominion. Friday, Ragone smashed his eighth homer of the year, a pair of doubles, and scored three times with a four-RBI effort in a series-opening win over Delaware.Â
Â
The infielder scored a run in Saturday's win over the Blue Hens and then enjoyed another four-RBI afternoon Sunday as the Tribe swept Delaware with a 10-5 win. Ragone crushed a three-run jack in the bottom of the eighth to ensure the sweep and help William & Mary clinch a spot in the CAA Tournament.Â
Â
The senior has had a banner year offensively, leading the Tribe with a .310 batting average, nine homers, 12 doubles, and 43 driven in. Ragone ranks third in the CAA with a .579 slugging percentage, and ranks among the top-10 in the league in OPS, home runs, doubles, and RBI.Â
Â
Ragone and the rest of the Tribe will be back in action Thursday for the beginning of a three-game set with Elon. Tournament seeding will be on the line as both teams have earned a bid to the conference tournament.Â
