Baseball Set For Weekend Series With Delaware

WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- William & Mary baseball returns to Plumeri Park for the final three home games of the season this weekend. The Tribe will host Delaware in an important three-game set as the CAA enters the final two weeks of league play.

Both teams are coming off midweek wins as the Green and Gold downed Old Dominion 5-0 and the Blue Hens bested Penn 6-5 Wednesday afternoon. The two teams have not met since the 2019 season due to Covid scheduling.

With six games to play, the Tribe is 8-10 in league play and fifth in the CAA standings. William & Mary holds tie breakers over UNCW (10-8) and Northeastern (9-9) from series wins earlier in the season. Delaware is 6-11 in CAA games entering the weekend.

The Tribe pitching staff was electric on Wednesday afternoon allowing zero runs and holding the Monarchs to just three hits. The five men combined to strike out 10 batters while allowing just three walks.

Tyler Solomon continued to swing a hot bat, with a single and a solo home run in Wednesday's win. The senior has now hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games and has scored 12 times over those 14 contests.

William & Mary will honor the careers of 10 seniors on Saturday afternoon before the game. Senior day festivities will begin at 1:15 prior to a 2:00 p.m. first pitch.
