W&M Women’s Track & Field Conclude Regular Season at Virginia Grand Prix

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The William & Mary women's track & field team concluded its regular season with two top-three finishes and three personal bests at the Virginia Grand Prix Sunday evening.

How It Happened:

Field Events|

  • In the high jump rookie, Ellie St. Martin placed third overall in the event at 1.61m.
  • Sophomore Megan Heidebrecht finished third in the long jump at 5.73m.
  • In the pole vault sophomore, Olesya Sitkowski finished first for the Tribe in ninth with a mark of 3.67m, while freshmen Sophia Fernandez and Liz Upright tied for 10th with a mark of 3.52m.

Running Events|

  • Freshman Clare Howard recorded a personal best in the 400m hurdles at 1:04.39, placing fifth overall.
  •  In the 800m rookie, Hope Stephens finished in the top 10 placing ninth overall at 2:22.15.
  • Closing it out for the Tribe in the the1500m sophomores Annie Wicker and Lucy Young both set personal bests. Wicker placed ninth overall at 4:38.66, while Young finished in11th.

NEXT UP: The Green & Gold turns its attention to the postseason beginning with the CAA Outdoor Championship on May 5-7 in Boston, Mass.
