Box Score BOSTON, MASS. - William & Mary fell 3-2 to Northeastern Sunday afternoon in the series finale in Boston. The Tribe however did win the series taking games Friday and Sunday afternoon off the Huskies.
Once again, the Tribe bullpen was outstanding as
Matt Howat and
Rojo Prarie combined to allow just two hits and no runs over 4.0 innings of work, but a three run fourth inning would be all the offense Northeastern would need Sunday afternoon.
William & Mary starter
Jack Cone faced the minimum, allowing no runs and just one hit through the first three innings, but the Huskies would finally get to the righty in the fourth. Two singles and two doubles plated three runs for Northeastern in a breakout frame.
The Tribe immediately answered in the fifth as Cone was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame. After a pair of outs,
Phil Conti shot an 0-2 fastball over the wall in right to make it a one-run game. The Green and Gold would get the go-ahead run on base in the sixth and again in the ninth, but could not find the clutch hit to even the score or take the lead.
UP NEXT: The Tribe will have a rare week without a mid-week contest and prepare to host Towson for a three game set beginning Friday night at Plumeri Park.
