SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – William & Mary men's golf opened play at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on Sunday on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club.  
 
As a team, the Tribe fired a 308 (+20) and sit in seventh place after the opening 18 holes. Defending champion Charleston leads the championship after an opening-round 281 (-7), two shots clear of UNCW (283).
 
Junior Trevor Binau led the Tribe on the opening day of the championship with a 2-over 74. He tallied a trio of birdies and shot a 1-under 35 on the second nine and was one of 11 players in the tournament to shoot 2-under on the par-5s on Sunday. Binau sits in a share of 21st place after the first round.
 
Graduate student Ethan Mangum recorded a team-high four birdies and posted a 77 (+5) on Sunday to sit in a share of 29th place.
 
Senior Matthew Feinstein and freshman Logan Hunter rounded out the Tribe's scoring quartet with a 78 and 79, respectively. Feinstein is in 36th place, while Hunter is two behind in 38th.
 
The Tribe tees it up in round two beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
