WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's golf graduate student Ethan Mangum is set to compete in the Collegiate Showcase of The Genesis Invitational on Monday. In January, Mangum was named the inaugural Pathway Player, earning a spot in the collegiate showcase.
 
Mangum was ranked No. 1 in the latest APGA Collegiate Ranking, which recognizes the top Black golfers from NCAA Division I, II or III programs and is based on players' Golfstat adjusted scoring average.
 
During the fall season, Mangum led the Tribe with a 73.71 scoring average over the 14 rounds played. His average currently ranks 18th on W&M's single-season list. He enjoyed his best round of the fall, shooting a team-low 5-under 67 in the second round of the VCU Invitational, helping the Tribe set the 54-hole school scoring record.
 
In total, Mangum had three rounds under par during the fall, which ranked second on the team. He had a pair of top-10 performances, finishing as the runner-up at the Howard Bison Invitational at Woodmont and placing eighth at the River Run Collegiate. He was named the CAA Golfer of the Week on Sept. 22, following his top 10 in the River Run Collegiate.
 
The 2022 Collegiate Showcase features the largest field of collegiate players in its eight-year history. The event features a pro-am competition with teams comprised of a PGA TOUR pro and two amateurs representing the college athlete's school. The pro-am teams compete against each other in better ball play, with the winning team earning a $50,000 donation to the school's golf program. The top collegiate performer earns an exemption into the 2022 Genesis Invitational, to be played February 17-20.
